Gardening for Kids

Gardening For Kids - Mum and Daughter

Gardening is a skill that used to be readily passed on from one generation to the next but, with changing social customs, many children grow up without learning any basic gardening skills. The saddest loss however, for children who don’t garden, is that they fail to gain an appreciation of the importance of plants and of the natural world in our lives.

Just as some children never learn that milk comes from a cow, others fail to appreciate that peas, broad beans and sweet corn are seeds, that they are not made in a factory and packed into plastic bags, but that they come from living plants.

The following section is designed to help you and your bub get in touch with nature. All the information has been put together with the help of Yates, the gardening experts,  and includes lots of great information on getting started, safety tips and fun projects. For more comprehensive information on gardening, water conservation and much more visit the Yates website or you can join the Yates Garden Club for free advice, competitions and promotions. Yates
