Premature Birth and Babies

Newborn baby

More then 21,000 babies arrive early every year in Australia and more than 6,000 of these require critical life support and intervention. In addition to the many challenges faced by bub in those first few months there is also the sense of loss, distress and guilt that parents feel about the way in which their tiny baby entered the world.  Caring for a preterm baby once they can come home, can also be daunting. The National Premmie Foundation has kindly supplied all the articles in this section to provide support to parents of premature babies, and help them understand and cope with those all important first few months.
